Record of Service of Dave Smith to Epping Football Club
Dave Smith has been committed to the development of women’s football at Epping YMCA and North West Sydney Women’s Football Association as both a coach and administrator for over 25 years. He is an avid supporter of women’s and community football.

Dave joined the Epping YMCA Club at the age of 11 and is still an active member both on and off the field. He has been loyal to Epping YMCA for 35 years, currently coaching three teams at the club including AA Women Divisions 1, women’s Under 18/1s and the U14/1s boys team. Dave also plays in the All Age competition and represented YMCA at Premier League level for 8 years.

The Epping YMCA Women’s are a founding member of the North West Sydney Women’s Football Association. As an administrator with the YMCA, Dave held the role of Club Registrar for 25 years and delegate to NWSWF for 23 years. Dave was appointed as the Epping YMCA Vice President in 2015. Simultaneously, Dave served as a project officer on the NWSWF Committee from 2003- 2012.

Dave’s coaching success over 26 years has been an outstanding achievement. Dave’s AA1 Women’s team has been the benchmark of the NWSWF AA1 competition for 20 years. Remarkably, under Dave’s guidance this talented team has won the premiership 13 times, won numerous championships and repeatedly represented the association in Champions of Champions. Epping YMCA were runners up in 2012 and winners of the Champions of Champions competition in 2001, 2003 and in 2015.

In recent years, Epping YMCA has won the prestigious NWSWF Club Championship, being the best performing club in 2012, 2013 and 2015.

Dave’s energy for all his coaching and administration roles makes him invaluable to football. Dave is married to former Matilda and Epping YMCA player Krissy Smith and keeping with tradition both his children play for the club, so we know that his involvement in football will continue for many more years.
