EFC parent code of conduct
By adhering to this Parent Code of Conduct, we create a positive and supportive environment for our young players, fostering their enjoyment, development, and love for the game. Your role as a parent is crucial in shaping their football experience and ensuring that it remains a positive and enriching journey for all involved.
▪ Remember that your child participates in football for their enjoyment and development. Your role is to support and encourage them.
▪ Provide positive encouragement to your child and their teammates. Avoid ridiculing or yelling at them or any other team members for making mistakes.
▪ Focus on your child's efforts and performance, appreciating good performances and skillful plays by all participants. Lead by example, showing respect for all players.
▪ Support efforts to eliminate verbal and physical abuse from football activities. Promote a safe and inclusive environment for everyone involved.
▪ Respect the decisions made by officials and teach your child to do the same. Avoid disputing or questioning their calls during matches.
▪ Leave coaching responsibilities to the coaches. Sideline instructions only cause confusion and disrupt the game. Trust the coaches' expertise and allow them to guide the players.
▪ Show appreciation and respect for coaches, officials, and administrators. Recognize their dedication and vital role in enabling your child's participation in the sport.
▪ Respect the rights, dignity, and worth of every young player, regardless of their cultural background or religion. Embrace diversity and create an inclusive atmosphere within the team and club.
▪ Treat all spectators with respect, refraining from any form of verbal or physical abuse. Uphold sportsmanship values and set a positive example for your child.
▪ Understand that players trialing for and participating in higher divisions may face a more competitive playing environment and increased expectations from coaches regarding commitment and regular attendance at training.
